CancerFuture was developed by the friends and family of Kyle Rea for the purpose of forming a cancer fund aimed at helping to provide alternative care for Stage 4 cancer patients, for whom normal treatment methods offer little hope. These alternative treatments are very seldom paid for by medical insurance and often require travel outside the US.
CancerFuture’s goal is to continue supporting Kyle so he can continue with his treatment to fight cancer. However, our goal is not only to raise money for Kyle but to help others like him who desperately need the resources to continue with their care.
Kyle’s Story (Updated!)
Kyle Rea, 50, was diagnosed with Metastatic Colon Cancer in January, 2009. By the time he was diagnosed, doctors found that his cancer had already metastasized into his lungs and liver. Traditional treatment offered little hope for a positive outcome so he and his wife, Jodie, began researching AlternativeCancer Treatments.
They met Dr. Robert Waters from Waters Integrative Health Center in Wisconsin Dells, WI who took over Kyle’s primary care. He also introduced the Rea’s to an American Oncologist now practicing in Germany.

Kyle’s first trip to Germany was very successful. “We are fortunate to have the opportunity to be a part of this ground breaking treatment,” Kyle’s wife Jodie said. “We hope that this system will be available at some point in the US so that others here can benefit from it.”
After his second treatment in Germany, Kyle's funding was not available to allow him a return trip that would have hopefully put him in remission.
However, Kyle and Jodie did not give up. The continued researching other alternative cancer treatments, and found the Burzynski Clinic in Houston, Texas. They have now been there since late January, and are due home early in March. Please visit the blog for all the updates and treatments Kyle is undergoing.
Burzynski clinic has been doing successful work here for over 25 years, conquering cancer through gene therapy. They do genetic testing on each individual to see which of their cancer fighting genes have been "switched off", and provide medicines made for that individual patient to "switch them back on." They also attempt to "switch off" the cancer producing genes. If all works as planned, the tumors just go away. This would indeed be a marvelous thing.
Kyle and Jodie have now also added some radiation treatments to Kyle's care which he has been getting from MD Anderson Hospital that are very targeted. Again, see blog for full details.
